Land Use and Permit Requirements Residential Zoning Standards, Optionals and Nonconformities City and County of Honolulu (Elective) 3.0 credits

This new course provides a general introduction to Oahu residential land uses and standards, optional developments and uses; and nonconforming residential lots, structures and uses. Included also is a case study, “Ohana Dwellings: A Good Intention Destined to Fail”, and the evolvement of additions/renovations/repair (AAR) units and additional dwellings units (ADUs) as alternatives to ohana dwellings.
